In 1968, with her once brilliant career taking a gradual descent, the universally loved performer finds herself in dire straits. As a result, nearly three long decades after playing the iconic role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, the exhausted and struggling single mum Garland tentatively accepts an invitation to perform a series of concerts at the Talk of the Town nightclub in London. However, there, amid adoring followers and cynical critics, dangerous long-standing habits push the beloved performer to her breaking point, threatening her chance for success.
