Co-produced by Chris Martin and David Holmes, Good Vibrations tells the true story of Terri Hooley: an idealistic music aficionado who decides to bring some harmony to 1970s Belfast during The Troubles, by opening a record shop “on the most bombed half-mile in Europe”. Hooley is a radical and a rebel. Inspired by the new underground punk scene and, in turn, galvanising young musicians, he branches out into record production and brings life to the city as a promoter of the local music scene. In doing so, Hooley struggles both with the reality of the industry alongside his chaotic personal life, but his commitment and zeal becomes instrumental to creating an alternative Irish music community, bridging religious and social rivalries.
