Belfast (2021) is the forthcoming semi-autobiographical film, written and directed, by Kenneth Branagh. The film stars Caitríona Balfe, Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan, Ciarán Hinds and newcomer Jude Hill as the nine-year old impression of Branagh. Beautifully shot in black and white with a Van Morrison soundtrack, Belfast is a nostalgic love-letter to Branagh’s childhood city and the life of a working class family during the political tumult of the late 1960s in the Northern Ireland capital.
