Rupert Gregson Williams European Representation

Rupert Gregson-Williams is a highly experienced composer and performer. In 2004 he has scored the already much hyped HOTEL RWANDA alongside The Afro Celt Sound System and Italian composer Andrea Guerra. He has also again worked closely with HANS ZIMMER, a long standing relationship, on the score for Antoine Fuqua’s epic feature for Buena Vista, KING ARTHUR, starring Clive Owen and Keira Knightley.

Recent feature film credits include WHAT A GIRL WANTS for Warner Brothers, starring Colin Firth; THE NIGHT WE CALLED IT A DAY for Scala Films starring Dennis Hopper and Melanie Griffiths; Brad Mirman's CRIME SPREE, starring Gerard Depardieu and Harvey Keitel; and Nick Hurran's PLOTS WITH A VIEW, starring Christopher Walken and Brenda Blethyn. Other credits of particular note include Peter Hewitt's THUNDERPANTS, two Jim Henson films, (JACK AND THE BEANSTALK: THE REAL STORY and MUPPETS FROM SPACE) and collaborations with Hans Zimmer on THE PRINCE OF EGYPT (nominated for an Academy Award) and SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON.

In addition to his busy film schedule, Rupert has composed for the London Symphony Orchestra, written the FIFA SOCCER WORLD CUP 2002 anthem, collaborated with songwriter ELVIS COSTELLO and with singer MAIRE BRENNAN (ex-Clannad), performed alongside JOHN WILLIAMS and produced albums for EMI. Rupert is also a multi-instrumentalist, and although principally a pianist/keyboardist, he is also accomplished on the violin and guitar. His musical career began during his school years, and at the age of 13 he was appointed head chorister at St John's College, Cambridge. In this role he recorded throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.

Rupert is an extremely versatile composer conversant with many musical genres. He is especially interested in ethnic music, orchestral and choral works, and the various styles that make up modern pop and rock. For example, Rupert is equally at home composing a full orchestral score as he is an urban break beat score or, indeed, a combination of the two.
