Richard graduated from St Martins School of Art with a degree in Fine Art and Film where he scored many films for students at The Royal College and the National Film School.

Richard is currently working with Mike Barker on his latest film A GOOD WOMAN which is an adaptation of an Oscar Wilde story starring BAFTA winning actress Scarlett Johansson and Oscar winning actress Helen Hunt. Having finished writing the score for the movie TO KILL A KING for Natural Nylon directed by Mike Barker and starring Rupert Everett, Tim Roth and Dougray Scott, Richard then went on to write the score for the Indie feature GRAND THEFT PARSONS, starring Johnny Knoxville.

Richard has an extremely impressive record in his work for Film and Television and has been nominated for a number of awards, winning the Ivor Novello Award for Best Television Score for the TV film TRIAL BY FIRE and the Royal Television Society Award for Best Original Score for the BBC period drama, THE TENANT OF WILDFELL HALL. His film sores include ACROSS THE LAKE for BBC Screen One, starring Sir Anthony Hopkins and THE BRIDGE which starred Saskia Reeves and Joss Ackland. Richard's world music track on ESCAPE FROM TIBET reinforces the diversity of his work and helped the film pick up six major awards. Other films include Renny Harlins' action blockbuster BORN AMERICAN, LA COUPE DE LA GLOIRE, an international cinema release for Worldmark Productions and BASIL, a Hollywood period film based on the Wilkie Collins novel starring Christina Slater, Sir Derek Jacobi and Claire Forlani.

Richard was commissioned to compose a jazz suite for the highly acclaimed Francis Bacon Retrospective at the Tate Gallery and has also been involved in composition for the theatre including the score for Corin Redgrave's production of OUSAMA.
