James Brett is currently sought after as composer and arranger by some of the more prestigious film companies both in the US and Europe. He has just completed additional writing, orchestrating and conducting on 20th Century Fox’s ALIEN VS. PREDATOR and is currently writing for a 3 film horror series called HEX for Sky Movies. These projects follow swiftly on from James’ pre-record arrangements for HBO’s THE LIFE AND DEATH OF PETER SELLERS, and producing, orchestrating and conducting the score for Miramax’s latest feature, ELLA ENCHANTED. James’ talent and sensitivity in both orchestral and electronic idioms is evident in all of his work.

James gained experience in drum programming and sound design from production work with mainstream and more underground dance acts, including DANNII MINOGUE, ALISON LIMERICK, PAUL GOTEL, and the internationally renowned MINISTRY OF SOUND.

From 1997-2002 James collaborated with film composer Michael Kamen, lending his skills in orchestral roles as well as a programmer/technical consultant. Some of James' credits include THE EVENT HORIZON, WHAT DREAMS MAY COME, THE IRON GIANT, FREQUENCY, X-MEN THE MOVIE, and the epic mini series, BAND OF BROTHERS by Steven Spielberg. James also co-produced Kamen's score for Paramount's AGAINST THE ROPES.

James’ talents as a writer and producer in the pop music scene are widely known. He has worked on numerous pop arrangements with leading artists such as HOLE, ANNIE LENNOX, DES’REE, and ERIC CLAPTON. His experience in this field led to the position of assistant Musical Director for THE PARTY AT THE PALACE, where he worked with a number of established artists including SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY, ERIC CLAPTON, TONY BENNETT, RICKY MARTIN and OZZY OSBOURNE as well as current popular artists/bands such as WILL YOUNG, BLUE, MIS-TEEQ and ATOMIC KITTEN.
